Exam prep for people who lift loads in Florida

Florida Online Crane School is an online study program for the written exams behind accredited crane operator, rigger and signalperson certifications. It was put together for Florida crews who can't easily give up a week of paychecks, or a day's drive, to sit in a classroom.

Who the courses are meant for

  • New operators going after a first card so they can move up from oiler, laborer or groundman
  • Experienced operators whose five-year certification is about to run out
  • Riggers and signalpersons on port, plant, bridge and high-rise jobs that ask for an accredited card
  • Lineworkers and fleet techs who run digger derricks or service truck cranes
  • Florida contractors who want several workers prepared without pulling the whole crew off a job

How the online prep works

Everything runs in a web browser, so a phone in the truck, a tablet at the trailer or a laptop at home all work. Courses are self-paced and open around the clock, which matters when a summer storm rains out the afternoon or a project goes to night shifts. Lessons walk through what the written exams test, and practice questions in the exam style let you see where you stand.

The Florida context is what we add on top: soft and saturated ground under outriggers, corrosion near salt water, lightning and wind limits, the hurricane securing rules in section 489.1132, and how federal OSHA, not a state plan, enforces Subpart CC here. When you have questions about which course fits, an enrollment advisor answers through the form.

Where our role stops

We are not a certifying body, and we have no affiliation with NCCCO, OSHA or any Florida agency. We don't issue cards or licenses, schedule anyone's exams on their behalf, or run practical tests. Certification is granted by the accredited body after you pass its written and hands-on practical exams, and your employer still has to evaluate you on the equipment you'll run. We make no promises about passing, hiring or pay.
